Choosing What Feels Right + Food For Thought | 1.9.24
SO GLAD YOU’RE HERE :-)
Hello Beautiful,
When I first began offering boudoir and portrait photography, professional hair and makeup were included in every session. My intention was to create an experience where clients felt special, confident, and ready to shine in front of the camera. Over time, though, I’ve come to understand something deeper: beauty and confidence don’t come from the same place for everyone. While I deeply admire and respect the work of the incredibly talented hair & makeup artists I partner with, I realized that including this in every session didn’t fully reflect how I want to celebrate you.
The hair & makeup artists I work with are true artists, bringing out beauty in ways that feel effortless and authentic. Their work can be transformative, adding an extra layer of polish and preparation to a session. But not everyone wants or needs professional styling to feel ready for this experience.
Some clients love the process of being pampered, while others feel most like themselves when they do their own hair and makeup, choosing to look like their everyday self or however they envision showing up. By making hair and makeup optional, I want to give you the freedom to decide what feels right for you. Whether that means styled curls, a bold lip, or simply showing up as you are, the choice is entirely yours.
At its core, my work is about celebrating you as you are, not creating a version of you that feels unfamiliar. This is why I believe in letting you decide how you want to prepare for your session. For those who enjoy the ritual of professional styling, I work with makeup artists who bring extraordinary skill and care to their craft. And for those who feel more comfortable doing their own hair and makeup, that’s beautiful too, because it’s entirely about what makes YOU feel at home in your own skin.
This decision reflects something I’ve always believed: you are enough, just as you are. Whether you walk into the studio fresh-faced, with your everyday look, or with a full face of glam, the most important thing is that you feel like YOURSELF.
I’ve learned from so many clients that confidence doesn’t come from the surface, it comes from within. By giving you the freedom to choose how you show up, I’m ensuring that your session feels authentic and deeply personal.
My ultimate goal has always been to create an experience that feels like a celebration of you. Making hair and makeup optional allows us to focus on what truly matters: honoring your story, your individuality, and the way you see yourself.
If you’re interested in working with one of the amazing artists I collaborate with, their services are available to add to your session. If you prefer to come as you are or style yourself in your own way, that’s perfect too. However you choose to show up, I’m here to create images that reflect your beauty, yourstrength, and your truest self.

Food For Thought
For last year's words belong to last year's language
And next year's words await another voice…
What we call the beginning is often the end
And to make and end is to make a beginning.
The end is where we start from.
