Every so often, I get asked these two questions. Who are your clients? And what do they do with the photos?
Typically, I’d respond with something poetic. Something about transformation, about reclaiming your story. And that’s still true. But lately, my answer has become a lot simpler.
My clients are everyday women. They’re the women you pass in the grocery store. The ones standing behind you at school pickup. The ones who show up for work every day, whether that’s in a boardroom, a classroom, or at home. They are teachers, doctors, lawyers, artists, corporate folks, social workers, mothers… Some are retired… the list goes on and on. They come from every walk of life, and they don’t all look the same. There’s no one “type” of woman who walks into my studio.
However, I will say that most of them are 40 and older and there is no maximum age. Maybe that’s because something shifts in us around that time. We start to see the value in doing something just for ourselves. And maybe for the first time, it actually feels necessary.
So… what do they do with the pictures?
They look at them.
They look at them when they need to be reminded of who they are, outside of the to-do lists, the titles, the noise.
They look at them and remember how it felt to do something bold. To step in front of the camera with intention.
They look at them and feel good.
They look at them and remember how fun the experience was.
They look at them and smile.
And honestly, isn’t that reason enough?
You don’t need to do anything with them. You don’t have to hang them on your walls (unless you want to, and I HIGHLY recommend it ). You don’t have to share them on social media (unless you feel proud to).
Sometimes, the most important part is simply having them. A reminder of your strength. Your softness. The undeniable light that’s yours alone. Proof that you are worth seeing and celebrating.

What Should I Wear?
Honestly? Whatever makes you feel like you.
Some people come in with lace and strappy pieces. Some wear oversized sweaters, a favorite tee, or nothing at all. There’s no one way to do this. And that’s kind of the point.
I’ll send you a detailed prep guide that walks you through wardrobe ideas, what photographs well, what to avoid, and what might surprise you. We’ll also talk before your session so I can get a feel for your style and comfort level. It’s important to me that this feels like yours.
You don’t have to show up as a version of yourself that doesn’t feel real. The most powerful images come when you feel comfortable in your skin and sometimes that starts with what you put on (or don’t).
So if you’re wondering what to wear, maybe try asking:
What would I wear if no one else was watching—just me, being fully myself?
That’s usually a good place to start.
