Boudoir As Self-Care

As women, it's all too common for us to not prioritize self-care.

Self-care looks different from person to person. For me, self-care looks like listening to my books - even when I could be cleaning my house or some other menial task. It looks like seeing a show or concert at least once a month to refuel my creativity. It’s daily meditation to reset and calm my mind. It’s taking solo vacations to recenter myself. But it’s also taking a class to learn something new.

A boudoir session can be self-care.

A boudoir session can help you honor your body in a way you have never honored it before. It can change the way you see yourself, the way you talk to yourself. It can put some pep-back-in-your-step and give yourself a newfound sense of self and self-worth.

You should never, ever feel guilty about doing things for yourself, taking time away from the daily grind to fill your cup so that you can be the best version of yourself. If it makes you feel good, keeps you sane, or if you think it's going to help your confidence or see your beauty - that matters, too.

“I lied and said I was busy.
I was busy;
but not in a way most people understand.

I was busy taking deeper breaths.
I was busy silencing irrational thoughts.
I was busy calming a racing heart.
I was busy telling myself I am okay.

Sometimes, this is my busy -
and I will not apologize for it.”
